dress in less money

Carrie (SATC) in a Oscar de la Renta cocktail dress from Spring 2004 collection.

Isaac Mizrahi for Target 50s silhouette dress

This dress is so nice! It does not quite have the ballooning silhouette as Oscar’s, but it IS relatively the same basic shape & a great alternative for $49.99. Also available in other colors.

IN SOLITUTE

Made in remembrance of the 40th anniversary of the publication "One hundred years of solitude" by novel prize winner Gabriel Garcia. Crumpled pages of the book were made into delicate & elaborate flowers by compatriot designer Sylvia Tcherassi.

Oh Holly!

Holly Stalder is co-owner of the Sea Plane boutique that carries local independent designers on Portland, Oregon. I adore Holly Stalder designs, it a shame that she doesn't sell more items from her " in the morning my dear, dearest" collection online, the existing place that stocks Holly Stalder online is her etsy store. The designer uses invaluable items like decayed ribbons, lace, fabrics, and trims to incorporate into her garments; a very clever way to reuse items that have been left neglected in drawers... To see her current spring collection visit www.ultrapdx.com/point-of-view/morning_dear/morning_dear.html.

"Intrigued by the fragility of fabrics, how they transform as they age and
wearover time, she incorporates these elements into her modern designs."
